The Twenty Two London Hotel

Description

About The Twenty Two

The Twenty Two is a private members' club and hotel set within a Grade II listed townhouse on Grosvenor Square, with a second property in New York. Behind the door is a world of exceptional design, celebrated food and drink, and a membership drawn from across the arts, business and culture. Every room, fabric and finish has been considered. Design is not a department here, it is the reason people come through the door.

The Role

The Interior Design Assistant supports the design team in maintaining, refreshing and developing the interiors across our spaces. You will help source materials, keep our sample library and specifications in order, liaise with suppliers and makers, and support the team through refurbishment and reinstatement work. It is a hands on, detail heavy role that suits someone early in their design career who wants exposure to a genuinely design led property, on a schedule that works alongside study or other commitments.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting the design team with day to day project administration, including schedules, trackers and supplier correspondence
  • Sourcing and requesting samples of fabrics, finishes, furniture, lighting and accessories, and preparing sample boards and presentations
  • Maintaining the sample library, materials archive and finishes schedules so that specifications are accurate and current
  • Assisting with FF&E specification, procurement documentation, purchase orders and delivery tracking
  • Liaising with suppliers, upholsterers, joiners and specialist makers on lead times, quotations and quality
  • Supporting site visits, snagging and installation days, including measuring, photographing and recording condition
  • Assisting with the ongoing care of the interiors, including reupholstery, repair and replacement cycles, working alongside Housekeeping and Property teams
  • Preparing drawings, mood boards and visuals to support design proposals
  • Keeping records, photography and asset information organised and accessible
  • Working sensitively within a listed building, and supporting compliance with heritage and consent requirements

What we are looking for

Essential:

  • The right to work in the United Kingdom
  • A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in interior design, interior architecture or a related discipline, or comparable practical experience
  • A genuine eye for detail, proportion, colour and material quality
  • Strong organisation and the ability to keep multiple threads moving without losing accuracy
  • Confident written and spoken English, and a professional manner with suppliers and colleagues
  • Working knowledge of [AutoCAD or SketchUp], Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • Comfortable with the practical side of the role, including handling samples, measuring on site and working around live operations

Desirable:

  • Previous placement or assistant experience within an interior design studio, hospitality design team or FF&E procurement role
  • Experience working in a hotel, restaurant or members' club environment
  • Familiarity with listed buildings and the constraints of working within them
  • Knowledge of UK contract furniture standards, including fire and durability requirements
  • Rendering or visualisation skills
  • A portfolio demonstrating material and finish sensibility

What we offer

  • 17 days holiday plus bank holidays, pro rata
  • Meals on duty prepared by our culinary team
  • Discounts across both properties, including food, beverage and accommodation
  • Employer pension contribution
  • Access to employee assistance programme
  • Exposure to every stage of a live design project within one of London's most distinctive interiors, with mentorship from the design team
  • A part time pattern agreed with you, with flexibility around study or other commitments where the business allows
