Théâtre XIV / AMDM Productions

THÉ TRE XIV
Company XIV fuses burlesque, circus, opera, dance, theater and decadent design to create one-of-a-kind theatrical experiences inspired by the court culture which flourished under the reign of Louis XIV. Founded by Artistic Director Austin McCormick in 2006, the company produces 360-degree immersive productions at its 175-seat Théâtre XIV in Bushwick, Brooklyn. XIV’s commitment to pushing boundaries is unparalleled, creating immersive and genre-defying baroque burlesque productions including Queen of Hearts, Nutcracker Rouge and SEVEN SINS.

Théâtre XIV offers a food and beverage program for patrons including themed cocktails, champagne and absinthe menus and a selection of treats. Additional curated cocktail and food pairings are served to VIP patrons. Service is an extension of performance and is an integrated, highly choreographed aspect of the patron experience. Théâtre XIV seeks an energetic, creative and savvy individual who will manage the daily front of house operations and staff, the food and beverage program and take a leadership role in facilities and equipment maintenance. Front of House Manager leads a team comprised of Maitre D’s, bussers, porters and liaises with multiple vendors. This position reports to the Artistic Director / Owner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Advocate for the XIV brand and business well-being.
-Enforce Department of Health compliance.
-Maintain FDNY certifications.
-Supplies and Inventory Management. Place orders, receive deliveries, stock, organize storage, etc.
-Count inventory weekly and input counts into POS. Report on and investigate weekly product loss.
-File and code all expenses and submit monthly expense reports.
-Vendor management (distributors, deliveries, appliance maintenance, repairs, porters, etc.)
-POS management. Program inventory and menu, troubleshoot processing issues, document glitches and resolve problems with POS and payment processing vendors.
-Assist with payment processing claims. Investigate and submit responses to chargeback complaints.
-Recruit FOH staff. Draft and post job listings, conduct interviews and train new staff.
-Staff training and quality control (Maitre’D, batenders, busser)
-Maintain staff responsibilities checklists and show-time tracks.
-Coordinate staff schedules
-Draft and file staff incident reports
-Draft and file patron incident reports
-Calculate nightly tip pool and prepare weekly payroll
-Cocktail batching and other bar prep as needed.
-Work up to 3-4 MaitreD’ shifts per week, with responsibilities including:
-Setup venue and bars for service
-Execute precise track of show-time responsibilities including welcoming patrons, checking IDs, customer service, on-site ticket sales, bartending, bussing, washing and polishing dishes, cleaning, etc.
-Review staff checklists, release staff and close venue
-Provide additional on-site assistance during peak service times and/or as needed.
-Enforce safety protocols
-Resolve customer service issues
-Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms (with support from bussers and porters)
-Attend bi-weekly management meetings
-Attend performance rehearsals as needed
-Attend Box Office and other trainings as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
-2+ years bar and/or restaurant management experience
-2+ years bartending experience
-2+ years theatrical front of house management experience
-Stage management experience preferred
-NYS Health Protection Card
-Certificate of Fitness for F-07: Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor
-Certificate of Fitness for S-95: Visual Inspection of a Fire Alarm System
-Certificate of Fitness for F03: Indoor Place of Assembly Personnel
-Experience with OvationTix (Audience View) preferred
-Experience with PayPal a plus
-Experience with Shopventory a plus
-Experience with G Suite preferred
-Candidate must have a genuine love for providing great service
-Appliance maintenance coordination, including dishwasher, refrigerators and ice machine, preferred

SCHEDULE
The Front of House Manager will be expected to maintain a consistent presence at the venue throughout the season. The FOH’s weekly schedule will consist of admin time as well as working on the floor as Maitre D. Performances are typically scheduled Thursdays - Sundays with exceptions during peak season when there may be up to 8 performances per week. Other additions to weekly schedule may include special events and holidays. The FOH Manager will be expected to work doubles, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and other holidays.
