Our 6-12 month placement programme is designed to immerse you in the heart of luxury hospitality, rotating through key departments to build the skills and experience needed to thrive as a future industry leader.

Who are we - The Newt in Somerset

The Newt in Somerset is a luxury country estate, one of only 14 properties in the UK awarded 3 Michelin Keys. Set amidst stunning gardens, ancient woodland, and rolling farmland, our estate features cyder orchards, elegant hotels, and world-class restaurants.

Our Placement Students

You’ll rotate through at least two departments, such as Hotel Reception, Housekeeping, Reservations, or one of our renowned restaurants. Expect to:

• Gain hands-on experience in day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with diverse teams across the estate.
• Develop professional skills to excel in luxury hospitality.

We’re looking for individuals with a passion for hospitality, a desire to learn, and a proactive attitude. Previous experience is an advantage but not essential.
