Description

The Quality Chop House is one of London's outstanding British restaurants. In our historic building we take a modern approach to hospitality working with amazing seasonal produce and nurturing an incredibly talented team. We are proud of our reputation as a great employer and want to work with our team members to build fulfilling and rewarding hospitality careers.

The Role

As a Chef de Partie at Quality Chop House, you will play an important role in delivering the ingredient-led cooking and high standards our kitchens are known for. Working closely with the Head Chef and senior kitchen team, you will take ownership of your section and help ensure dishes are prepared and presented consistently to the highest level.

Our menus change frequently to reflect the seasons, which means you’ll constantly be working with new produce, techniques and ideas. This role is ideal for cooks who are curious, ambitious and looking to continue developing their craft in a thoughtful and supportive kitchen environment. We believe great kitchens are built on teamwork, respect and continuous improvement, and you will be part of a team that takes real pride in the work we do every day.

About You

Our teams are made up of talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. While everyone brings something different, there are a few qualities we tend to look for in most candidates:

  • A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to keep learning

  • Pride in producing thoughtful, ingredient-led food

  • A collaborative approach and enjoyment of working as part of a supportive team

  • Strong attention to detail and a calm approach during busy services

  • Clear and respectful communication with colleagues

  • Curiosity about ingredients, techniques and hospitality as a craft

  • Previous experience as a CDP in a high-quality kitchen is preferred, though we also encourage applications from strong Demi CDPs who are ready for the next step

Above all else, we value people who care about their craft, take pride in their work, and want to keep improving.

Benefits & Development

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:

  • Bupa health insurance

  • 50% staff discount across the group for up to 6 people

  • Welcome lunch

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave

  • Access to individual mental health support

  • Paid company sick days and community days

  • £1,000 employee referral bonus

  • An additional day of holiday for each year of employment (up to 3 extra days)

We also invest heavily in training and development, and are committed to helping our team members grow their skills and progress within the group - many of our managers and chefs started with us as junior team members.

Why Woodhead?

At Woodhead Restaurant Group we believe the best restaurants are built by great teams. Our culture is based on respect, honesty, generosity and continuous improvement. We work hard, support one another, and believe that great hospitality comes from people who feel valued and trusted.

In 2025 we were voted one of Code Hospitality's happiest places to work, something we are incredibly proud of.

We have a considered and impactful perks package and are dedicated to maintaining an environment where people can perform at their natural best day in day out.

About us

Woodhead Restaurant Group comprises five independent restaurants in London, including Portland, Clipstone, 64 Goodge Street, Quality Wines and The Quality Chop House.

We opened Portland in 2015 and have grown carefully over the years — not through expansion plans, but through the talent and ambition of the people in our teams. We are committed to building restaurants where both guests and staff feel genuinely looked after.

The Woodhead Restaurant Group is an equal opportunities employer. Our aim is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams. We celebrate differences and encourage everyone to join us, and to be themselves at work.
