The Role

As a leading member of the QCH kitchen team, you will be responsible for the smooth running of lunch and dinner services. You will be expected to set a positive example, be punctual and to contribute to a healthy and happy working environment in the restaurant, supported in doing so by the wider management team.  This role will be ideal for those who are looking to further develop their career in a top-quality, kitchen and nurturing environment.


Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Ensuring all mis en place has been prepared ahead of service

  • Contributing towards training and management of a healthy, happy team

  • Keeping sections clean, orderly and tidy throughout the day, with a full kitchen clean down at the end of each day

  • Helping to prepare daily team meals in a timely manner

  • Contributing to the testing and development of new dishes

  • Keeping daily deliveries and stock organised, ensuring stock rotation and quality checks of all ingredients

  • Overseeing kitchen maintenance and upkeep

  • Overseeing clear communication between the kitchen and front of house teams

  • Helping the kitchen team to complete all health and safety procedures and checks, following EHO guidelines 

  • Exemplifying the culture, attitude and behaviour of The Woodhead Restaurant Group as outlined in the Employee Handbook

With menus changing regularly to reflect the seasons, every service offers opportunities to learn new techniques and work with outstanding produce.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for chefs who genuinely care about their craft.

The ideal candidate will;

  • have previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant (ideally a minimum of 1 year)

  • be friendly, enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude and a desire to learn

  • really care about providing a fantastic experience for guests

  • work well under pressure and as part of a team

  • have clear communication skills

  • be passionate about seasonal ingredients and modern British cooking.

  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

  • A desire to learn, improve and build a long-term career in hospitality.
