José Andrés Group is growing in major markets throughout the US and the world. We are a company of dynamic restaurants which span cuisine, culture and price point but are always guided by our mission to Change the World Through the Power of Food.


We are looking for an experienced and innovative VP of Finance to join our Team in Washington, DC. Successful candidates are energized by challenges, creative problem solving and process centric global support. This position involves all phases of accounting including ownership of General Ledger, AP/AR, and treasury for multiple companies within JAG. Includes comprehensive support to the CFO.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Responsible for overseeing AP, AR, treasury, financial reporting, audit, corporate and sales tax.
  • Responsible for investor relations, cap table, managing external auditors, legal agreements
  • Inspire, Support and lead the team to work individually and together.
  • Responsible for implementing controls, processes, procedures in the newly created accounting function and managing contracted accounting support
  • Ability to thrive and operate in a high-performance culture with rapid growth
  • Experience operating in a multiunit restaurant or retail environment of more than 20 units and 1200 employees throughout major global markets.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and SPECIFICATIONS

  • Preferred – Minimum 5-8 years mixed experience within both large accounting firms and in-house, corporate roles
  • Digitally inclined, proficient with the ability to automate processes using Excel and other digital tools.
  • High level of emotional intelligence to lead and develop accounting team
  • Process oriented and high degree of organizational skills
  • The position has about 65% original work and 35% delegated work
  • Chartered Accountant (CPA)
  • Washington DC based. Travel to NYC, LA, Vegas
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and self-management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP. Strong numeracy and analytical skills. Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Reports to the CFO
  • College degree required
