Editorial Intern 

José Andrés Media


José Andrés Media (JAM) is looking for an enthusiastic writing and project management intern to support the editorial and audio teams with editorial projects, including newsletters, podcasts, and book research. Projects may include culinary and historical research, short-form food writing, creative copywriting, podcast pre- and post-production, and script editing.

 

This position, which will last for three months, will report to the Editorial Directors of Special Projects and Audio. Position is paid hourly. The JAM team hopes to make this internship a meaningful learning experience for the intern, and as such, there will be regular check-ins between the intern and the JAM staff to ensure that the relationship is fruitful in both directions.

 

Internship requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of journalism experience. Food writing is a major plus! Please be prepared to share writing samples.
  • Strong research skills and understanding of cross-cultural contexts.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills…attention to detail is key!
  • Quick worker, flexible with shifting projects and deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for learning, especially about food, cooking, and culture
  • Spanish-speaking and writing would be a bonus
