New Restaurant Opening Manager
The New Restaurant Opening Manager is José
Andrés Group’s rockstar of new restaurant openings. They are responsible
for all operational services and hourly training programs during the new
restaurant opening process. This
position exemplifies enlightened hospitality and achieves the highest level of
service excellence by coaching and inspiring employees to seek opportunities to
always exceed guests’ expectations. This person should radiate warmth,
kindness, high energy, happiness, and a commitment to training a best-in-class
team. This position requires knowledge in all areas of restaurant education and
training from culinary to service. This
position reports to the Senior Director of Training at José Andrés Group
and requires up to 50% travel.
ROLE
Innovate, teach, motivate, learn, grow, and create the strongest
opening team of hospitality agents worldwide. Show passion, create teamwork, communicate,
and exemplify how to be an ambassador of training at each new opening. Successfully
help the team open José Andrés Group locations around the world and
deliver a best-in-class experience to our teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with the day-to-day training and service standards in our new and existing restaurants focusing on managers, hourly team members and hourly trainer
· Assist with hosting new hire orientation at all new store openings
· Assist managers with teaching of Service Basics and Hospitality 101
· Assist with upkeep and monitoring of Learning Management System -pre and post opening
· Work with newly hired Managers to ensure they are receiving best in class training
· Work with trainer’s side by side to ensure training methods are effective
· Meet regularly with trainers to develop team and to solicit feedback
· Lead training during new restaurant openings
· Assist with the administrative tasks to maintain training program
· Ambassador of José Andrés Group’s service values and hospitality
· Lead Task Force for front of house during all new restaurant openings.
· Help execution of all training and certification programs for managers and hourly associates to ensure compliance of company standards, execution of training schedules and certification of training restaurants.
· Writing, updating, organizing, and delivering new training materials in accordance with the company mission, values, and culture.
· Develop content material for training manuals and new restaurant openings
· Lead and facilitate training plans and calendars for new restaurant openings
· Delivers onsite and field training to all TFG employees
· Ensures locations maintain product quality, customer service, cleanliness and maintenance, training, staffing, and branding standards during new restaurant openings.
· Curate training materials for TFG’s Learning Management System
· Help organize travel and accommodations for Task Force team
· Communicate and lead Task Force team during NRO’s
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Requires developed communication skills, both verbal and written
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of training programs
· Ability to partner effectively with managers and JAG teams to promote JAG training and service initiatives
· Ability to always represent JAG with our partners.
· Bar Knowledge
· Restaurant management background required
· Beer, liquor, wine knowledge required
· New restaurant opening experience required
· Participate and help execute training department workshops
· Ability to work harmoniously with other departments to organize all new restaurant openings
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
· At least 5 years of operations and training experience in a food service environment preferred.
· Certified SERVE Safe instructor preferred
· Certified TIPS Instructor preferred
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize
· Superior presentation and facilitation skills.
· Computer skills; proficient in MS Office programs
· Powerful written and verbal communication skills.
· Proven record of accomplishment demonstrating mastery of coaching skills and techniques used to develop employees in a food service environment.
· Demonstrated ability to make decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment in a timely manner with incomplete information and under tight deadlines.
· Demonstrated knowledge in current Learning & Development techniques, practices, trends, and technology.
· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and build trust with audiences at all levels of the company.
· Ability to be flexible with dates and times during new restaurant openings.
· Ability to manage one's time with a balance of meetings and hands on operations.
· Travel is required up to 50%
