The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day and long-term operational success across multiple restaurant locations. This role ensures consistent execution of brand standards, financial performance, guest experience, and team development while driving operational excellence and scalable growth. This position serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership while remaining deeply connected to field operations. The ideal candidate will be based in the NYC market, with the ability to travel up to 80%.

  This position is eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus, tied to the achievement of key operational and financial goals. Key Responsibilities 

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations for multiple restaurant locations, ensuring consistency in service, food quality, cleanliness, and safety

  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across all units

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve performance and profitability

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health, labor, and safety regulations

Financial & Performance Management

  • Own P&L performance for assigned locations

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including labor, food cost, sales, turnover, and guest satisfaction

  • Partner with finance and leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies

  • Drive revenue growth through operational execution and strategic initiatives

People & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and develop General Managers 

  • Build a strong leadership bench through hiring, training, succession planning, and performance management

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and inclusive culture aligned with company values

  • Partner with HR on employee relations, compliance, and engagement initiatives

Guest Experience & Brand Standards

  • Ensure a consistently exceptional guest experience across all locations

  • Address escalated guest issues and implement preventive measures

  • Uphold brand standards and lead initiatives to improve guest satisfaction and loyalty

Strategic Growth & Execution

  • Support new restaurant openings, remodels, and market expansions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Marketing, Finance, IT) to execute company initiatives

  • Analyze market trends and operational data to inform strategic decisions

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive restaurant operations experience, including multi-unit leadership

  • Proven success managing P&Ls and driving operational results

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills

  • Deep understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and food safety standards

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to travel regularly between locations

  • Proficiency with restaurant systems (POS, scheduling, inventory, reporting platforms)
