Vacancy: Commis Chef
Job Purpose: To assist the Executive Head Chef in the preparation and service of food, ensuring that the highest quality, hygiene and service standards are met and maintained at all times in line with our guests’ expectations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Executive Head Chef with preparation of hot and cold food for breakfast, lunch/and/or dinner service
• Ensuring a consistently high level of food service at all times through knowledge of menu items and awareness of commodities used, preparation, methods and cooking
• Assisting as necessary with stock control and identifying methods for improving food service
• Ensuring kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned and relevant health and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
Requirements for the role:
• Experience of working in a similar role and the ability to produce quality food to the highest standard
• Current certificate in Basic Food Preparation, Health and Hygiene or similar would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
• Driven with a passion for food and quality produce
• Creative with a meticulous eye for detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment and maintain a consistently high standard of food delivery under pressure
• Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required)
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
