Job description
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the USHG Home Office.

Key Responsibilities

- Assists with payroll-related functions including but not limited to:

o Processing new hires, terminations & status changes

o Processing tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, & direct deposit.

- Ensure assistance and support is provided when the accountants have payroll related questions.

- Ensure the accuracy of the payroll database:

o Deductions

o Earnings Group

o Tax setup

- As needed, liaise with Human Resources to ensure employee benefit related deductions are processed appropriately and correctly.

- Assist with implementation of company-wide payroll initiatives and provide ongoing support as needed

- New Hire Reporting

- Upload weekly file to Third Party vendors – Positive Pay, WOTC, 401(K), BRI

- Ad hoc projects including but not limited to general filing, payroll reports, etc.

Skills/Requirements

Technical:
Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Access)
Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
Familiarity with Ultimate Software system a plus

Language:
English

Experience:
3-5 yrs payroll experience
Restaurant industry experience a plus

Certifications:
CPP or FPC certification from American Payroll Association

Work Environment:
Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
May also be required to travel to other locations to assist accountants/controllers.
