Description

Chef de Partie – The White Cross, Richmond

Location: Right on the Thames, just off Richmond Bridge

Join the team at one of London’s most iconic pubs ?

The White Cross isn’t just a pub — it’s a Richmond institution. Perched on the banks of the Thames, we’re famous for our character, history, and the unique quirk that when the tide rises, the pub can only be reached by boat (or a good pair of wellies!).

We’re proud of our fresh, seasonal menus, bustling atmosphere, and riverside charm. As a Chef de Partie here, you’ll be part of a lively, close-knit team, cooking for locals, visitors, and riverside wanderers who love great food and drink in a truly unforgettable setting.

What we offer you:
  • A clear pathway for progression through our CDP-to-Sous Chef development programme – most of our Head Chefs started just where you are now.

  • The chance to earn a nationally recognised qualification via our Apprenticeship Scheme.

  • Access to Culinary Masterclasses to sharpen your skills and inspire your creativity.

  • 20% discount in all Young’s pubs and 30% off overnight stays in our Pubs with Rooms.

  • Free meals on shift, plus weekly pay.

  • Sharesave Scheme and company pension.

  • 28 days’ holiday per year.

What we’re looking for:

We’re after a Chef de Partie with passion, flair, and a love of fresh, seasonal cooking. You might already be in the role, or you could be a talented Commis ready to step up. Either way, if you thrive in a buzzing pub kitchen and want to be part of something truly special, we’d love to meet you.

At The White Cross, you will:

  • Cook and deliver consistently high-quality, fresh dishes that make guests want to come back.

  • Get creative alongside our Head Chef to help design menus and daily specials that reflect the seasons (and maybe even the tide!).

  • Lead by example in the kitchen, supporting and motivating your fellow chefs.

  • Use strong organisational skills to keep kitchen standards, GP, and labour on track.

  • Be part of a team that loves to work hard, have fun, and make our riverside pub the best in Richmond.
