Job description

UPHAM INNS ARE A UNIQUE COLLECTION OF PREMIUM PUBS AND INNS LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES AND TOWNS IN HAMPSHIRE AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES OF WILTSHIRE BERKSHIRE AND SURREY.
Every Upham Inn is relaxed, welcoming and individual and celebrate the character of the local area it serves. We are rooted in our local communities, and each of our inns reflect the unique personalities of our teams and guests.

Our menus focus on high quality country style dining, combining flavoursome British classics with seasonal tastes and regional specialities.

Most of our pubs are located in beautiful countryside settings ideal for a day out. Enjoy our gardens and terraces on a summer’s day or the cosy warmth of our roaring fires in the heart of winter.

Nearly all the inns in our collection offer comfortable bedrooms as a cosy bolthole to extend your local stay, offering country charm and our famous Hampshire Breakfast.

“Upham is building a portfolio of pubs with personality and charm”, Fiona Duncan, The Telegraph.

We can offer attractive pay rates, flexible working hours (both part time and full time) and a great development pathway that provides the opportunity to develop skills and even grow into management roles, with opportunities to benefit from our Training Academy and apprenticeship schemes. Plus a generous benefits package that includes 40% off dining out across our group and 30% discount for friends and family, as well as all the normal employment benefits associated.

Set in a quiet, beautiful village in the Heart of Ascot, the 18th century pub building of the Winning Post oozes character and charm, with its cosy nooks and crannies, original stone floor and huge open fire.

Could you be the key to real team spirit?

As our Restaurant Manager, you will help to create a special atmosphere for guests.

You will still be out there on the floor, right at the heart of the action - but you’ll be more than just ‘one of the team’. While the General Manager drives the business, it is you that manages the day-to-day running of the business…

• Enjoy the fast-paced fun of pub life

• Learn new skills to enhance your career

• Belong to a supportive, close-knit team

• Benefit from a competitive salary and great discounts, including 40% off in all Upham Inns and heavily discounted stays in our hotels.

• We will reward you every time you introduce a friend to the Upham family who successfully completes their probation.

Restuarant Manager is a rewarding role which sees you take responsibility for the happiness of guests and morale of the team.

You’ll need to take ownership of problems, and you’ll live by a mantra of ‘always doing the right thing’ – sometimes needing to think outside the box.

Supporting the General Manager is a great way to learn the business side of running a pub. It is a chance to develop your skills and gain the knowledge you need to progress your career even further.

The great thing about Upham Inns is that we hire based on what we believe to be your potential, more than previous experience.

All we need to know is that you’ve got the right character for the role:

          •         You’ll be a great communicator

          •         You’ll have great decision-making skills

          •         You should be a confident, capable leader

          •         You’ll need to be organised
