Job Summary

The Busser plays a vital role in supporting the overall guest experience by ensuring the dining room is clean, organized, and perfectly prepared. This position works closely with servers and service staff to deliver smooth, efficient service and maintain the elevated standards of Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. The ideal candidate is energetic, attentive, and committed to providing warm, genuine hospitality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests.

  • Set up and stock assigned workstations according to established service standards.

  • Assist servers by clearing completed courses, resetting tables, and replenishing utensils and water glasses.

  • Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently, maintaining established timing and appearance standards.

  • Provide support with coffee, tea, water, bread, butter, and other food and beverage offerings.

  • Maintain clean and organized service stations; restock ice, beverages, linen, china, glassware, and other supplies.

  • Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and additional service items as needed.

  • Assist with dining room setup and breakdown, including the transport of items from stewarding.

  • Complete assigned side work and any additional tasks requested by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as a Busser or support position in a high-volume or upscale dining setting.
  • Strong knowledge of service procedures, dining room flow, and guest service etiquette.

  • Self-motivated, guest-oriented, and able to anticipate team needs.

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods.

  • Flexible availability, including lunch shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Highly organized with the ability to maintain clean, orderly work areas.

  • Strong communication skills—clear, courteous, and professional.

  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team-oriented, dependable, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong service orientation—actively looks for ways to assist guests and coworkers.

  • Professional appearance and a consistently positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods; frequent bending, lifting, stooping, and reaching.

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds.

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

  • Exposure to heat, steam, kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, and variable noise levels.

Work Conditions

  • Indoor work split between the dining room and the kitchen.

  • Fast-paced, high-energy restaurant environment.

  • Afternoon (lunch), weekend, and holiday shifts.
