Located in the iconic MGM Grand, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill pairs Chef Wolfgang Puck’s signature California-inspired cuisine with a lively, approachable atmosphere. As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host/Hostess sets the tone for a warm, welcoming, and memorable dining experience. Our team embodies genuine hospitality, a passion for service, and the vibrant energy of the Las Vegas Strip.

Job Summary

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and seating guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm. As the first impression of the restaurant, this role ensures every guest feels acknowledged, appreciated, and well cared for from the moment they arrive. Hosts/Hostesses are expected to uphold and exemplify Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group standards—including eye contact, smiling, speaking first, and engaging with guests in a polished and genuine manner.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet all guests in accordance with Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group hospitality standards—warm, gracious, and attentive.

  • Escort guests to their tables and manage seating assignments thoughtfully to ensure proper pacing of the dining room.

  • Accurately handle all in-person and phone inquiries, including reservations, waitlist management, and guest preferences.

  • Use Reservation system to document reservations, special requests, and guest details.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas.

  • Ensure all menus and drink lists are clean, current, and properly presented.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, and restaurant events or promotions.

  • Stay informed about restaurant operating hours, policies, and general activities to assist guests effectively.

  • Provide polished, proactive guest service—anticipating needs, resolving concerns, and elevating the experience.

  • Support the team as needed and perform other job-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Host/Hostess experience (or similar role) in the fine dining or upscale casual restaurant industry

  • Comfortable with computer applications and reservation platforms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional hospitality and guest service skills—warm, professional, and polished.

  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to actively listen, identify guest needs, and respond with care.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional appearance, friendly disposition, and a consistently positive attitude.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods; frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.

  • Must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds.

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

  • Exposure to heat, steam, cleaning chemicals, kitchen equipment, and variable noise.

Work Conditions

  • Indoor environment split between the dining room entrance, host stand, and kitchen pathways.

  • Fast-paced, high-volume setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
