When are the seasons at Yellowstone Club?
The Club operates two seasons a year: winter and summer. Winter generally runs from the 2nd week of December through the 3rd week of April. Summer season generally runs from the 3rd week of June through the 3rd week of September. Seasonal employees are laid off at the end of each season. If an employee ended the season in good standing with the Club, they may be eligible to apply for a position for a future season.

Are there year-round jobs?
Yellowstone Club has several hundred year-round jobs in all departments at the Club. When positions are posted they will note whether they are a seasonal position or a full-time year-round position. Many employees start out as a seasonal employee and come back to stay full-time.
I'm moving to Montana to work for the winter season for the first time. What should I know?

It can be extremely cold with upwards of 300+ inches of snow in Montana in the winter so we recommend the following clothing items:

  • Warm hat, mittens, gloves, scarves
  • Winter coat and pants (good to -20 degrees or colder)
  • Warm waterproof snow boots and very warm socks
  • Multiple layers (base layer clothes, sweaters, sweatshirts)
  • Jeans
  • Ski or snowboard equipment
Note: All of these things can be purchased in Bozeman if you don’t have them already.
Is employee housing offered?

We recommend you coordinate housing in advance. In the winter, housing can be hard to find, and expensive so you will want to try to secure housing up front. Yellowstone Club does have housing available for seasonal, full-time employees, but it is very limited. Once you have been offered a seasonal position, you will be given the contact information to apply for seasonal housing if you desire. Housing is on a first come, first served basis and does close out each season as it is very popular. Employee housing is mostly shared. Very few private rooms are available.

We are frequently asked if pets are allowed. Pets are not allowed in the housing arranged by Yellowstone Club and it can be very difficult to find housing that allows pets in and around Big Sky. Long hours, especially during the winter, makes it difficult for employees to take care of pets in a manner which is fair to the animal. Keeping an animal locked in a kennel or housing for 14-16 hours a day while an employee works is hard. We recommend leaving pets at home.

In the interest of safety and cleanliness, having pets at Yellowstone Club is prohibited. This includes dogs in an employee’s car. Please leave pets at home. It is not good for your pet or our Members and guests.

I’m planning on living in Bozeman. Do employees receive any transportation benefits or is transportation provided?
Almost 80% of our employees live in Bozeman as it is a bigger city and employees like to have access to larger stores, more nightlife, etc. Yellowstone Club does provide complimentary bus passes for employees who choose to ride the Skyline shuttle to work each day. Multiple shuttles run early in the morning, during the day and return home in the evening. It is a convenient way to save money by leaving the driving to someone else. In the winter, shuttles can be more crowded, and employees may need to leave earlier in the morning especially to make it to work on time. Shuttle schedules are posted outside of Human Resources and on-line.
Will I be able to have holidays off?
The holidays are our busiest times, particularly the two weeks at Christmas and New Year’s. We expect all of our employees to work during this time to give our Members the memorable experiences we are all here to provide. There will be times after New Year’s that might be a little slower if you would like to have family or friends visit you. However all major holidays during the season (Christmas, New Year’s, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Independence Day and Labor Day) employees are expected to work and time off will not be granted. Another big time for the Club is the month of March with spring breaks. You will want to check with your manager in advance if you think you would need to have time off during the season, other than your regularly scheduled days off.
May my friends and family visit me at the Club?
Yellowstone Club is a private Club and friends and family are not allowed on property. The Club is only open to Members during the season. You will have the opportunity at the end of the winter season to bring your family on property for one day – the end of season party for our employees. It is usually held the day after we close and employees may bring their family to the Club to ski, snowboard, and partake in the great food and beverages offered.
What do employees wear to work each day?

Employees at Yellowstone Club take pride in their appearance as their image represents the Club and who we are. Each department manager will cover appearance standards for their area. Many employees will be provided uniforms and are expected to wear them daily. Other departments do not have specific uniforms and the department manager will outline the expectations. In non-uniform departments, jeans, sweaters, nice shirts, vests or other casual clothing is the norm.
