Description

As a Zuma Director of Operations, you are responsible for overseeing and supporting the operational performance of Zuma restaurants across the region. This role partners closely with General Managers, Executive Chefs, and senior leadership to drive operational excellence, financial performance, guest experience, and consistent execution of Zuma standards. The Director of Operations provides strategic and hands-on leadership, develops high-performing teams, identifies opportunities for improvement, and ensures each restaurant achieves its operational and commercial objectives.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and support day-to-day operations across the region, ensuring consistent execution of Zuma's operational, service, and brand standards
  • Partner with General Managers and Executive Chefs to drive restaurant performance, providing guidance, accountability, and hands-on operational support as needed
  • Monitor financial and operational performance, including revenue, labor, cost of goods, profitability, productivity, and other key performance indicators
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to develop and execute annual budgets, forecasts, business plans, and strategies to achieve financial targets
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational reviews to evaluate service, guest experience, team performance, facilities, and overall restaurant standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop General Managers and senior restaurant leadership, supporting succession planning and building a strong regional leadership pipeline
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Company policies, procedures, SOPs, and operational initiatives across all locations
  • Identify operational challenges and opportunities and develop action plans with local leadership to improve performance, efficiency, and profitability
  • Partner with Culinary, People & Culture, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Events, and other departments to support restaurant and regional business objectives
  • Review guest feedback, service trends, and operational results, ensuring appropriate action is taken to maintain an exceptional guest experience
  • Support staffing strategies, leadership recruitment, retention, performance management, and organizational planning across the region
  • Support new initiatives, major events, restaurant projects, renovations, and other regional operational priorities as required

  • Proven experience leading General Managers and senior restaurant leadership across multiple locations
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, guest experience, labor management, food and beverage costs, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial performance and translate findings into effective action plans
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills with a track record of building high-performing management teams
  • Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple locations and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across restaurant and corporate leadership teams
  • Ability to provide both strategic leadership and hands-on operational support in fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environments
  • Ability to travel frequently across the region and work a flexible schedule based on business needs
