Shepherd Neame is excited to be recruiting an Apprentice Assistant Manager at The Bell Hotel with bundles of energy and enthusiasm to join our team, so if you have experience of supervising or leading a team in a fast paced customer focused environment and you are looking to carve out your career in the hospitality industry; this may be just the job for you. 

A grand Edwardian hotel, brimming with character and modern magic, this riverside bar is the one to beat. Set in a beautiful spot overlooking the River Stour, our decadent hotel has lots of period features, including large fireplaces, high ceilings, and beautiful windows. Recently refurbished, we offer a vibrant bar with a view, a dining area with an alfresco terrace, spacious, well-appointed bedrooms, and lovely spaces for our customers. 


As an ambassador for our brand, this role will see you covering duty manager shifts, supporting the management team with the creation of an inclusive culture within the business and leading and developing the team to ensure that they offer excellent customer service at every opportunity.


How does the apprenticeship course work for you?

Online or face to face workshops  / Master classes with experienced industry professionals / Webinars with bite size 90 minute modules

Hospitality assistant managers have a high level of responsibility and are accountable for fulfilling the business vision and objectives; this requires excellent business, people and customer relations skills. Individuals in a hospitality management role are highly motivated team leaders that combine a talent for management with specific industry skills and they thrive on the customer facing nature of the role. Apprentices will have a coach assigned to them for 1-2-1 sessions at their place of work & for their progress reviews with their line manager. Apprentices will have access to an online learning platform & portfolio system.

What do we need from you?

  • The course length is anything between 15 - 18 months, including 3 months for End Point Assessment
  • You will have access to at least 6 hours per week to complete your off the job training (On & Off site)
  • You will need to attend training at the Hospitality Management Academy

What are my next steps once I complete my apprenticeship?

Once you have successfully completed this level 4 apprenticeship, this may progress into a senior managerial role within Shepherd Neame managed estate. Naturally your next steps would be to work towards being a General Manager, where we would discuss further development opportunities to further your career with Shepherd Neame.
