General Manager Vacancy

The Great Northern Railway Tavern, Hornsey

A rare opportunity has become available to be the next General Manager of the iconic The Great Northern Railway Tavern.

The Great Northern Railway Tavern has a reputation for being one of the best craft beer pubs in the country with 16 lines of rotating craft beer. TIPAs, Impy Sours, Pastry Stouts & Flemish Reds make a regular appearance on the taps.

It has a large garden that has recently been extended featuring an outdoor kitchen, inside you will find a beautiful bar, spacious drinking and dining area and first floor function room with bar.

The pub has a strong following within the affluent and discerning Hornsey community but also within the craft beer community that will happily make the journey to sample some of the most talked about beers.

The next General Manager will have a clear vision for the business and will be able engage and motivate their team behind them. Leading from the front and being a pillar of the local community will be key to their success. Craft beer knowledge and passion will be advantageous but not essential.

We welcome applications from experienced General Managers that can hit the ground running and take this iconic business to the next level. High performing MTP graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.

Could you write the next chapter of our story?

As our General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the success of the pub.

Ultimately, the smiles on faces, the return visits and the positive reviews are all down to you - making this one of the most rewarding jobs in the hospitality business.

For any General Manager, Fuller’s is a special company to work for. You’ll get lots of help and support from our Support Office when you need it, but also plenty of encouragement to put your own spin on the pub.

You can take plenty of pride in the role too, knowing that Fuller’s ales, food and service has a reputation as some of the very best in the business.

You’ll need to be commercially minded, making the right decisions to keep customers pouring through the doors. Importantly though, you’ll be a people-person too - mindful that to many, you’re still a good old-fashioned ‘Landlord’.

And of course, you’ll have a team to look after. So, we’re looking for somebody with true leadership qualities – able to keep both the customers and the team smiling.
