Role Mission
The Maitre D at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura will lead and inspire a dedicated team of Hosts to deliver the state-of-the-art service we want our clients at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura to experience.
You will act as a strong partner to the Back of House and Front of House Management team to support with operational activities and oversee the restaurant reservation system.
Key Accountabilities
• Manage and oversee all aspects of the restaurant reservation system, inclusive of database, outreach and guest relations;
• Coordinate restaurant front of house actions, being responsible for a smooth and effective collaboration across staff and exceeding clients’ expectations;
• Define, supervise and ensure a state-of-the-art service delivery;
• Assist with daily operational duties, inclusive of reporting and opening/closing procedures;
• Lead by example to promote a positive and professional team environment that fosters trust, integrity and superior performance standards;
• Provide continuous and systematic on the job training and people development for direct reports;
• Monitor the team’s adherence with company policies and procedures;
• Greeting and escorting guests with a professional and positive attitude;
• Oversee the flow of guests within the restaurant;
• Take care of the administrative work involved;
• Supervision and responsibility for mise en place proper preparation;
• Manage eventual clients’ complaints exceeding their expectations;
• Oversee and pro-actively deal with guest queries and complaints;
• Maintain clean work environment;
• Advising guests on menus & beverage choice.
Job Requirements
• Solid and significant experience (5+ years) in the hospitality industry as Maitre and/or in managerial roles; Previous experience in luxury contexts will be prioritized;
• Previous experience with RESY or other reservation systems is required;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Additional language command will be prioritized;
• Professional grooming and appearance;
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Client-oriented approach and solutions-oriented attitude;
• Passion, professionalism and discretion;
• Working time flexibility;
• Proven track of people-management skills;
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which included, evenings, weekends and holidays;
• Provide certification of Food Handlers’ License.
