About the Opportunity
As an Expo (Food Expeditor) at Hudson House, you play a key role in ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining room. Your primary responsibility is to organize, inspect, and facilitate the timely delivery of dishes, maintaining accuracy, presentation, and efficiency at every step.
By fostering strong communication between chefs and service staff, you help create a smooth, elevated dining experience for every guest. Our goal is for each guest to feel genuinely welcomed, comfortable, and valued, while consistently exceeding expectations.
Core Responsibilities
Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the expo line, kitchen pass, and surrounding service areas
Ensure all dishes are complete, accurate, and presented to standard before leaving the kitchen
Coordinate and communicate effectively with chefs and service staff to ensure timely and efficient food delivery
Call tickets clearly and manage the flow of orders to maintain proper pacing of service
Run food to guest tables as needed, ensuring each dish is delivered promptly and to the correct guest
Assist in running beverages when necessary and support service to maintain seamless guest experience
Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout service, adhering to all health and safety standards
Support servers, bartenders, and hosts as needed to ensure smooth operations across the dining room
Reset and maintain cleanliness of the expo area and assist with general cleaning tasks during and after service
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall guest experience
Requirements
At least 18 years old
Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic
Team-oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being positive, respectful, professional and having a genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues
Fluent in both written and spoken English
TABC Certification, as required
Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
