Mac Haik Restaurant Group is opening an upscale dining restaurant in Houston and are seeking a passionate and experienced Bar Manager to join our New Restaurant Opening (NRO) team. This is a unique opportunity to lead a bar program from the ground up—combining creativity, leadership, and operational excellence at the city’s newest dining destination, Kirkwood.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven bar management experience (upscale or fine dining strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and beverage trends.
  • Passion for hospitality and guest engagement.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to train, inspire, and grow a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day).

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a high-end cocktail program that reflects the restaurant’s culture and brand.
  • Source premium spirits and mixers while maintaining cost efficiency and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with culinary and marketing teams on seasonal features, pairings, and promotional events.
  • Oversee daily bar operations, including opening/closing, cleanliness, and compliance with alcohol service regulations.
  • Manage inventory, minimize waste, and maximize profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor bartenders and barbacks, building a skilled and hospitality-driven team.
  • Provide ongoing mixology and service training to ensure excellence.
  • Deliver world-class guest experiences, including personalized service for regulars.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Partner with marketing to showcase bar offerings through events and promotions.
  • Champion the restaurant’s culture, values, and service standards.
  • Deliver an elevated guest experience through refined service and polished floor operations.
