The Barista is responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages, educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.
Duties / Responsibilities:
· Maintains the highest level of standards for all production preparation
· Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea
· Adheres to all company recipes and measurements
· Produces superior product presentation
· Keep bar dishwashing sinks filled with correct cleaning solution and levels
· Maintain inventory of all coffee product and alert a manager for re-ordering
· Check if brewing equipment is working properly and report any maintenance needs
· Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation, and smiling
· Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
· Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Department of Health (DOH)
· Perform other related activities as assigned by management Qualifications
· Deliver timely and courteous service to LDV Hospitality guests in adherence to our company policies and procedures
· Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
· Must have basic math skills
· Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
· Strong customer service background
· Ability to have an outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations
· Working knowledge of drink recipes and preparation
· Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
· Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
· Attendance to company meetings and training seminars as required
· Responsible for training and developing new employees to LDV Hospitality’s standards of service
· Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
· Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by management
· Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
Education / Experience:
· 1+ year’s experience as a Barista in a similar caliber establishment
· A high school education is required
Physical/Special Requirements:
· Ability to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis
· Ability to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
· Mobility and manual dexterity appropriate to staff in the Barista position
