Pastry Chef de Partie – Pillar Hall, Olympia

Up to £18.00 per hour | 40 hours per week | West London

Passionate about pastry? Bring your creativity and attention to detail to Pillar Hall.

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at Pillar Hall, our exceptional restaurant and events venue within the iconic Olympia in West London.

At the heart of the venue is Idalia, our restaurant set within the stunning Grade II listed Pillar Hall and focused on exceptional British produce.

Our pastry kitchen supports much more than one style of service. From breakfast and afternoon tea to elegant desserts, events and dinner service, this is an opportunity to develop your skills across a varied and exciting operation.

If you love precision, beautiful presentation and creating pastry that people remember, we’d love to meet you.

Your role

As Pastry Chef de Partie, you’ll be a key member of our pastry team, helping us deliver consistently outstanding desserts, pastries and baked goods.

You will:

  • Prepare and beautifully present desserts, pastries and baked goods.
  • Deliver pastry across breakfast, afternoon tea, events and dinner service.
  • Take pride in achieving exceptional standards of flavour, consistency and presentation.
  • Help keep the pastry section organised, prepared and running efficiently.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications accurately.
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Monitor stock, minimise waste and ensure ingredients are correctly stored and rotated.
  • Bring a proactive, hands-on attitude to busy services while maintaining attention to detail.

About you

You don’t need to be the finished article – but you do need to care deeply about your craft and have the experience and attitude to work at a high standard.

We’re looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or in a similar pastry position within a quality restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment.
  • A genuine passion for pastry, desserts and baking.
  • Confidence with both classic and modern pastry techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for presentation.
  • A positive, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to remain focused and consistent in a busy professional kitchen.
  • A collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
  • High standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.

The role

  • Up to £18.00 per hour
  • 40-hour contract
  • Monday–Sunday operation
  • Varied pastry production across restaurant and events

What’s in it for you?

Joining Pillar Hall means becoming part of a growing hospitality business where talented people have the opportunity to develop.

We offer:

  • 28–30 days’ holiday per year, increasing with length of service
  • Uniform provided
  • Meal on duty
  • Employee reward programmes and long-service awards
  • Internal training and opportunities for career progression
  • A professional, supportive and dynamic kitchen environment
  • The chance to broaden your pastry experience across multiple styles of service
  • The opportunity to develop within an exciting and growing hospitality group
  • An incredible workplace within one of West London’s most iconic venues
