The Job

The Studio Manager will coordinate a team of between 10-12 interior designers and be responsible for a well-executed workflow for the Property Design team. You will provide the team with planning, process and delivery solutions in their goal of delivering new venue projects both regionally and internationally.   You will also work closely with the Property Design Director to help manage their calendar and workload, ensuring clarity of their priorities and availability. 

 

You will manage and program all interior design related projects and ensure task owners follow best practice of process and deliver to deadlines, collaborating with international partners to deliver venue design schemes. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage diary coordination and book department and cross-departmental meetings
  • Source and book cost-effective travel solutions in line with Company policy
  • Manage recruitment and on-boarding/induction process with agencies and the eople team  
  • Manage sickness, absence, annual leave and arrange coffee chats 
  • Prepare and organise all necessary documents for Design meetings 
  • Keep the studio area tidy and presentable with samples clearly logged
  • Monitor and maintain department databases, such as Frontify
  • Assist with resource scheduling on projects in collaboration with Property Design Director
  • Continual review of processes, proactively identifying more efficient ways of operating
  • Manage resource requirements using team planner and design planner to ensure that the interiors team is fully resourced to deliver business projects
  • Manage studio budget for IT requirements, software, and freelancers
  • Compile necessary reports for Design Director and Head of Design ensuring standardisation of documents across the team
  • Support with function programming and track design projects to achieve deadlines
  • Identify any changes to programme and feed into Property Design Director and Head of Interiors

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of Project Management, Prince 2 qualified preferable with experience of Waterfall Project Management
  • Confidence multi-tasking with the ability to prioritise tasks and be highly organised 
  • An understanding of interior design and construction project processes 
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Great IT skills
  • Demonstrable experience of Budget management
