The Job

Working within our Creative team, the Senior Designer assists the creation, communication, and delivery of key design solutions across the Red Engine, Flight Club, and Electric Shuffle brands.  You will lead projects for both Digital and Print and be on the front line of Brand guardianship. 


You will work on Digital, Production and Print related tasks and will be a guardian of the Brand guidelines. This is a super varied role, and you will have the opportunity to work on: Advertising, Video Games, Websites, Social assets, Production Guides, Venue Signage, Menus, Posters, Stained Glass Windows, User Interfaces, Event Branding, Illustrations, Training Materials, Presentations.

 

Working with the Head of Design, tyou will provide timely responses to incoming requests.  You may be required to oversee Junior and Freelance designers to ensure high-quality work throughout the entirety of the assigned projects. You will need to look ahead to understand busier periods and assess the risk, allowing the Head of Design and Studio Manager to respond with resource and support, updating Microsoft Planner and Teams with relevant information to facilitate feedback and delivery.

  

You will use your judgement to know when to innovate and evolve the brand vs when you should use the current guidance. You will be able to work with any level of seniority to develop concepts and have strong time, budget and communication skills. 

 Key  responsbilities will include:

  • Continuing to evolve the visual brand identity for each company, ensuring that it stays true to the original intent but also doesn’t feel old, overused, or tired 
  • Developing new sub-brands for campaigns and products across all areas of the three brands 
  • Ensuring that misuse of the various brand identities is captured and subsequently replayed with advice and resources 
  • Ensuring international partners have access to the latest common assets 
  • Reviewing the design of assets in venues and notifying the Head of Design when standards aren’t met
  • Supporting members of the design team by providing feedback on their designs when requested 
  • Delivering files to a professional standard, meeting all specification requirements
  • Communicating project progress clearly to manage wider stakeholder expectations
  • Ensuring all relevant information is provided for all design briefs and prepared to request it from stakeholders when it is not
  • Creating Production guides for venue items so that they can be accurately created by a production company. These items may include lit signs, floor stencils, bar details, etc
  • Attending regular morning stand-ups
  • Working with the Studio Manager to ensure that Microsoft Planner is kept up to date and the status of each assigned task is recorded on the card
  • Taking time for learning & development and reach out for time and resource where needed

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Advanced understanding of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Experience using Adobe After Effects, Animate, and XD
  • A creative portfolio that showcases Print, Digital, Animation and Web design
  • A passion for modern design and be able identify how it can be reflected into our customer facing brands - be the voice for exciting and relevant design evolution that could benefit the team and the company
