With a total of 14 incredible venues throughout the UK, we have ambitious plans and are never standing still. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team.


The Job

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working in the Red Engine Technology team, building the software to make our data accessible to the wider head office team.  You will design and implement data solutions and build new infrastructure to consolidate the data and deliver insight across the business. 

As this is a new role, you will be meeting with key stakeholders to gather requirements, design and implement the solutions, and lead the development lifecycleRed Engine is heading into a period of rapid growth and we expect this data team to grow with the company, so you will be comfortable with leading a team in the near future. 


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Build relationships with the stakeholders to Design and Implement data solutions that meet the business requirements. 

  • Manage, design and implement a modern data platform as a green field project  
  • Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems 
  • Manage relationships with external consultants, providing specifications and managing projects building ETL infrastructure 
  • Engineer, develop and optimise code to required ensure business processes support our growth 
  • Have confidence in recruitment and on-boarding of other data engineers, and support them in their professional development 

To be successful in this role, you’ll:

  • Have a proven track record designing and building data infrastructure and ETL pipelines
  • Be experienced using Azure Platform including Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Logic Apps and Function Apps
  • Have database development experience in SQL Server including Store Procedures and T-SQL or similar enterprise database toolset 
  • Be experienced with RESTful API’s
  • Experience of a wide range of data sources & technologies
  • Expriencece using PowerBI and Power Query
  • Software development experience in relevant languages including C# or Python 
  • Azure DevOps or similar development lifecycle management tool experience
  • Experience in Data Modelling and associated tools like SQLDBM.com
  • Experience using MS Dynamics or a similar ERP
  • Have extensive commercial experience
