The Job

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be working in the Red Engine Technology team, building the software to make our data accessible to the wider head office team.  You will design and implement data solutions and build new infrastructure to consolidate the data and deliver insight across the business. 

As this is a new role, you will be meeting with key stakeholders to gather requirements, design and implement the solutions, and lead the development lifecycle.  


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to Design and Implement data solutions that meet the business requirements. 
  • Manage, design and implement a modern data platform as a green field project  
  • Implement and support data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems 
  • Engineer, develop and optimise code to required ensure business processes support our growth 


To be successful in this role, you’ll:

Essential

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Have a proven track record designing and building data infrastructure and ETL pipelines
  • Be experienced using Azure Platform including Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Logic Apps and Function Apps
  • Have database development experience in SQL Server including Store Procedures and T-SQL or similar enterprise database toolset 
  • Be experienced with RESTful API’s
  • Experience of a wide range of data sources & technologies
  • Experience using PowerBI and Power Query
  • Software development experience in relevant languages including C# or Python 
  • Experience in Data Modelling and associated tools like SQLDBM.com
  • Experience using MS Dynamics or a similar ERP

Preferred

  • Have relevant role experience within the Hospitality industry 
  • Experience leading a team
  • Azure DevOps or similar development lifecycle management tool experience
