The Job

The HR Manager is responsible and accountable for managing employee relations across all our venues and Red Engine teams for around 1000 team members. They stay up to date with employment law changes, review company HR trends and actively review ER processes & policies to ensure best practice and minimise risk.  The HR Manager will own the Engagement Life Cycle across all brands. They will support the Head of People and the wider People team with a variety of projects.

 Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing & advising on a variety of employee relations issues, including probations, grievances, disciplinary actions, performance issues, workplace conflicts and absence ensuring compliance with employment law, company processes and policies
  • Overseeing employment tribunals, managing redundancy and work shortages, and leading employee consultations, ensuring legal compliance
  • Developing, reviewing and delivering all ER materials including policies & training
  • Analysing data to spot trends and inform decisions, address challenges and proposes effective solutions
  • Providing support and resources for team members facing mental health challenges, collaborating with managers to promote mental health awareness, and advising on reasonable adjustments in line with UK disability legislation
  • Working alongside the Head of People to implement strategies for fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and supports employees from all backgrounds, including those with neurodiverse needs
  • Owning the Engagement Survey life cycle, including building and sending surveys, analysing results and building reports & action plans
  • Leading and managing HR projects, including the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs to enhance effectiveness.

 To be successful in this role, you’ll: 

  • Have extensive experience in a hospitality HR role, focusing on employee relations

  • Have a proven track record in delivering effective training programs and coaching managers to improve their ER skills.
  • Be experienced in handling complex employee relations autonomously
  • Have in depth understanding in managing neurodiverse employees and promoting workplace inclusivity.
  • Be an experienced with project management
  • Be proactive in identifying and addressing HR issues before they escalate
  • Be committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and mentally healthy workplace.
  • Be a strong communicator and able to manage sensitive situations with professionalism.
  • Have a high level of emotional intelligence to manage sensitive employee situations, ensuring fairness and maintaining a professional approach to conflict resolution.
  • Have exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Have a strong ability to think commercially with decision making
