General Manager – Front of House

At Rick Stein Restaurants, we’re passionate about fresh seafood, simple cooking done brilliantly, and delivering exceptional guest experiences every day. We’re now looking for an experienced and inspirational General Manager to lead our front-of-house operation and work in partnership with the Head Chef to drive standards, performance, and culture.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the overall front-of-house operation and setting the standard for service excellence
• Creating a welcoming, guest-focused culture across the restaurant
• Managing and developing your management and front-of-house teams
• Driving performance through training, coaching, and succession planning
• Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure seamless service and strong cross-department collaboration
• Owning guest satisfaction, handling feedback professionally, and driving continuous improvement
• Managing rotas, labour planning, and payroll in line with business needs
• Driving sales, upselling, and commercial performance
• Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and retention across front-of-house roles
• Ensuring all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed
• Maintaining brand standards, compliance, and presentation throughout the site

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Restaurant Manager in a quality-led hospitality business
• A genuine passion for food, wine, and exceptional service
• Strong leadership and people-development skills
• Commercial acumen with experience managing labour, sales, and performance
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build great relationships
• Calm, organised, and confident under pressure
• A hands-on leader who leads from the front
• Commitment to building inclusive, high-performing teams
