Job PurposeTo supervise the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring consistently high standards of customer service, drinks quality, cleanliness and team performance. The Bar Supervisor will support the management team in delivering an efficient, professional and welcoming bar environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Supervision
Lead and motivate the bar team during shifts.
Allocate duties and ensure staff are working efficiently.
Brief the team before shifts and communicate key information.
Support the training and development of new and existing team members.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to management.
Customer Service
Provide excellent and professional customer service at all times.
Ensure guests receive a friendly, efficient and welcoming experience.
Deal confidently with customer complaints and resolve issues appropriately.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Bar Operations
Ensure the bar is fully prepared before service and properly closed at the end of each shift.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene.
Ensure drinks are prepared and served consistently to company standards.
Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
Minimise waste, breakages and stock discrepancies.
Ensure equipment is used correctly and report faults promptly.
Cash & Compliance
Follow company cash-handling and payment procedures.
Complete end-of-shift checks and relevant paperwork.
Ensure licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed.
Promote responsible alcohol service and challenge customers where appropriate.
Ensure age-verification procedures are consistently followed.
Previous experience working in a bar or hospitality environment.
Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is desirable.
Strong knowledge of bar service, drinks and customer service.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead by example and motivate a team.
