Jack & Harry’s, the seventh-concept from Vandelay Hospitality Group, is a New Orleans-inspired chophouse in Dallas’ Snider Plaza. The restaurant blends Southern charm with French-infused recipes, featuring expertly prepared steaks, Southern coastal favorites, and standout dishes like the French Onion Filet and Rue St. Gumbo. Housed in a historic 1945 building, the 5,000-square-foot space exudes timeless elegance with cherry wood paneling, antique furniture, and iconic equestrian artwork. Guests can enjoy a warm, club-like atmosphere paired with a French-forward wine list and Bourbon Street-inspired cocktails, making Jack & Harry’s a perfect spot for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.

About the Opportunity

As the General Manager of Jack and Harry’s you’ll be more than a leader – you’ll be the core of our guest experiences. In this dynamic role, you’ll shape and inspire a talented team, creating an inviting and memorable environment where guests and team members alike can thrive. Your responsibilities will include guiding daily operations, leading hiring and training efforts and upholding the highest standards in food safety and service quality. Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Create memorable dining experiences by exceeding guest expectations and showing a genuine love for the art of hospitality
  • Embody Vandelay Hospitality Group’s standards of excellence with a high-energy, service-oriented attitude and inspire your team to do the same
  • Prioritize guest satisfaction through a hands-on, proactive approach to service excellence
  • Respond to guest concerns creatively, ensuring every interaction enhances the brand’s reputation

Operations & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage realistic forecasts, budgets and strategic goals for profitability
  • Oversee cost controls, including labor, food and operating expenses, without compromising quality or service
  • Analyze P&L statements and implement action plans to address variances
  • Ensure efficient procurement practices that align with quality and freshness standards

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train and retain a top-performing team dedicated to delivering southern hospitality at its finest
  • Lead by example, fostering an enthusiastic and results-driven workplace culture
  • Conduct ongoing training to ensure staff mastery of service and menu knowledge
  • Host weekly manager meetings and participate actively in leadership forums.
  • Inspire and develop staff, fostering a positive, results-driven workplace culture

Sales Growth & Community Engagement

  • Develop initiatives to boost guest check averages and restaurant profitability
  • Implement community engagement initiatives to build brand awareness and increase sales

Compliance & Safety

  • Uphold compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards are rigorously maintained
  • Promote workplace safety and address potential hazards promptly

Facility Management

  • Uphold the physical and aesthetic standards of the steakhouse, ensuring an elegant and inviting atmosphere
  • Oversee secure handling of funds and inventory management

Performance Improvement

  • Monitor guest feedback through reviews and surveys, implementing necessary improvements
  • Enforce company policies regarding staff performance and behavior

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant / Hospitality Management or similar field of study strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of full-service restaurant management experience preferred, but not required
  • Trustworthy, detail-obsessed and open to constructive feedback
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Desire and natural ability to engage with our guests, always exuding an infectious commitment to guest service
