Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier with deep expertise in French wines to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional knowledge of French wine regions, varietals, and vintages, paired with a talent for creating memorable guest experiences. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our culinary team to curate wine pairings that enhance our high-end dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Wine Program Management

  • Curate and maintain a well-rounded wine list with a strong emphasis on French wine regions: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Loire Valley, Rhône, Alsace, and beyond
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage purchasing, and ensure proper storage for optimal wine quality
  • Continuously update the wine program based on seasonal menus, guest preferences, and industry trends
  • Host engaging wine events, tastings, and pairing dinners to drive guest engagement and wine sales

Guest Engagement

  • Deliver elevated, concierge-level wine service to guests, including tableside recommendations, pairing suggestions, and decanting
  • Create memorable moments through tailored wine experiences that complement our elevated cuisine
  • Support the floor by leading service, mentoring team members, and ensuring smooth, detail-driven execution

Team Collaboration and Training

  • Lead and train front-of-house team members on wine knowledge, service standards, and upselling techniques
  • Foster a learning environment where wine culture and hospitality go hand-in-hand
  • Collaborate with culinary and bar teams to build cohesive pairing experiences and menu

Operational & Financial Oversight

  • Assist in managing daily operations of the restaurant, including staffing, guest relations, and quality control
  • Ensure profitability through effective cost control, pricing strategy, and wine sales performance
  • Comply with all local and state beverage laws and licensing requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sommelier or in a leadership role in fine dining or high-end hospitality
  • Certification from a recognized wine education body (CMS, WSET Level 2 or higher preferred)
  • Expert-level knowledge of French wines, varietals, vintages, and wine service
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, service-first mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Passionate about hospitality, detail-oriented, and dedicated to continuous growth
