The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations that lead to the success of a bar. Duties include organising staff rotas, making timely stock orders and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Bar Manager takes responsibility for the financial success of the bar, including administrative, leadership and practical tasks. Their main function is to ensure that they serve and run the bar efficiently and that the customer has the best possible experience. They are also responsible for the success and development of their staff and Maintains budget and monitors costs. He/She will also promote new cocktails and upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. Oversees staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases, wait staff. |
The Role

· Oversee the daily operations of the bar, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and customer service. · Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. · Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement. · Train and supervise bar staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about products, policies, and procedures. · Monitor and maintain the quality of beverages and food served at the bar. · Manage and maintain the bar's financial records, including cash handling, budgeting, and reporting. · Bar inventory management and stock control on a regular basis · Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding alcohol service and sales. · Collaborate with other departments, such as kitchen staff and event planners, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. · Continuously evaluate and improve the bar's offerings, including menu items, promotions, and events. · To produce all drinks menu items to the highest standard, in line with the recipe and build cards · Maintaining the highest of standards at all times in line with our food policy and SOP’s and (Standard Operating Procedures) · Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders. · Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials. · Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers. · Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol. · Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked. · Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations. · Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register. · Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment. · Developing new cocktail recipes. · Bartender Requirements: · Strictly adhere to our HACCP (Heathy & Safety and Food Hygiene) procedures and make sure any paperwork you are responsible for is filled in and up to date · Our customers mean the world to us, and we expect all of our team to influence the way they feel, by conveying positive energy with a friendly and professional approach. |

Qualifications and Requirements of the position

· Prior experience working in a bar or restaurant. · Supervisory experience. · Familiarity with point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms · English as a first or second language (spoken, written and reading) · Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required. · Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol. · Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. · Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance. · Basic math and computer skills. · Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. · Strong task and time management abilities. · Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques. · Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs. · Well groomed and presentable · Discretion and Loyalty · The ability to multi task · Excellent timekeeping · Flexible working hours (incl. working on bank holidays) · Any necessary working permits |
