Position Summary

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial documents and company management reports, preparation and recording of financial transactions and performing standard month end closing procedures and account reconciliations.  The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements, preparing reports for external auditors and identifying cost-savings opportunities across the company.

 

Overview of Responsibilities

●       Recording cash receipts and financial transactions in financial software

●       Oversee the Chart of Accounts maintenance;

●       Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly management reports

●       Preparation and analysis of financial documents for senior leadership

●       Consolidation/maintenance of budgets in financial software and excel

●       Prepare month end close journal entries, including but not limited to, expense accruals, depreciation expense, online sales postings, deferred revenue recognition

●       Calculate and verify monthly Sales Tax payments

●       Prepares various account analyses to ensure accuracy of financial statements and to ensure correct documentation and proper allocations.

●       Prepares various documentation for external auditors.

●       Review department policies and procedures to suggest improvements in reporting of financial information

●       Prepare weekly revenue pacing reports and declining operating expense budgets

●       Additional projects, tasks, duties as per business need


Minimum Qualifications

●       Minimum of 5 years experience in a professional accounting role, and/or equivalent relevant experience

●       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

●       Professional and effective interpersonal, communication, and listening skills across all levels of workforce

●       Experience in R365 a plus!

●       Proficient computer skills and competency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.

●       Must be detail oriented with particular strength in time management and organization

●       Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce deliverables within strict deadlines

●       Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk regularly

●       Strong data entry and word processing skills

●       Prior experience with Restaurant365 a plus
