Position Summary
Responsible for the oversight and management of payroll
related functions across all locations, accurate and timely multi-state payroll
processing, compliance with federal/state/local payroll laws, and maintenance
of employee transactions/ records.

Overview of Responsibilities
● Oversee activities of payroll administrators throughout the Company
● Ensure that employee payroll processing is in compliance with federal and state laws
● Assist in payroll accounting, transactions, reporting, stop payments and other operations
● Review payroll reports and timesheets for accuracy before payroll transactions
● Ensure that employee payroll is processed accurately and timely
● Conduct payroll related trainings and mentor team members as needed
● Assist in payroll and timesheet audit activities
● Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner
● Analyze payroll issues and recommend corrective actions
● Ensure payroll system data and functionality is up-to-date and accurate
● Maintain employee payroll records and timesheet data for future reference and per applicable retention laws
● Oversee set-up of payroll arrangements for new hires and terminations
● Verify attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments, reconcile Paid Time Off (PTO) and post information onto designated records
● Maintain and process inter-company system changes (classification changes, transfers, pay increases)
● Create, manage, and continually audit paid time off tracking system
● Compute and oversee salary changes, compensations, deductions, bonus, wage garnishments, applicable vacations payouts, and benefits for employees
● Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
● Generate and review time & attendance reports, and other associated reports to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies, and keep system up to date
● Process, file and upload necessary paperwork into payroll system
● Manage 401K process; 401K contributions and loan payments
● Interface with the internal divisions to ensure end-to-end process efficiency throughout the entire payroll process
● Perform research for compliance, other admin/clerical support as needed pertaining to labor laws, legislation and tax laws in multiple states.
● Assist with year-end payroll and payroll related processing and W-2 preparation.
● Oversee and review information for manual payroll checks as necessary
● Assist with annual payroll audit process and other audit tasks as needed
● Perform all other reasonably assigned duties, tasks, projects
Minimum Qualifications
● 5 years of payroll management experience within the hospitality or related industry required
● Must have experience handling multi-state payroll and compliance for non-exempt, exempt, non-tipped, and tipped occupations
● Associates Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or other related field preferred
● Must have prior payroll system, timekeeping, and HRIS experience
● Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Able to deliver effective results, meet deadlines and targets
● Ability to problem solve, analyze, good mathematical skills and be able to multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
● Excellent communication and organization skills; exhibits accuracy when working with details
● Ability to handle highly confidential data
● Good judgment & decision-making skills
● Strong organizational skills
● Ability to read and write the English language, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required
● Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point and experience with HR/Payroll database systems
