German Gymnasium was originally designed as the first purpose-built gym in England, and used by the German Gymnastics team for the 1864 Olympics. Now a Grade II listed building, German Gymnasium, is conveniently situated in the heart of vibrant King’s Cross. Serving an all-day grand café style menu across the ground floor and vast terraces, for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. With a nod to its heritage the menu reflects a Germanic influence. The restaurant on the upper floor has its own spectacular bar and semi-private dining room with views of the award-winning interior to match.

will be doing:
Where are looking for a talented Junior Sous chef with experience in high volume fine dining restaurants, with an understanding of Swiss, German and Austrian Cuisine
As a Junior Sous Chef at our esteemed restaurant, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the culinary excellence we are known for. Your duties will encompass a range of responsibilities, including working closely with the Executive Chef to create dishes that reflect authenticity, innovation and seasonality.
Your leadership will shine as you supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring impeccable cooking techniques and adherence to strict quality standards. Additionally, you will assist in inventory management, cost control, and ordering, contributing to the restaurant's financial success.
Your creative flair, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of Mittel European flavours will inspire our chef team and elevate the dining experience for our guests.
