With beautiful bedrooms, a stunning garden, and a reputation for exceptional food and genuine hospitality, The Hawk Inn is a destination for locals and visitors alike. From relaxed drinks in the bar to memorable dining experiences and peaceful overnight stays, it’s a pub that truly sits at the heart of its community.

We are now looking for an exceptional General Manager to take the reins and lead this fantastic pub into its next chapter.

At The Hawk Inn, you will have the freedom to shape the guest experience from the moment someone books a table to the warm farewell at the end of their visit. You will build a passionate team, develop future leaders, and ensure every guest leaves already planning their return.

With its beautiful setting, strong reputation and loyal local following, The Hawk Inn offers the perfect stage for a General Manager who takes pride in delivering truly memorable hospitality.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience as a General Manager in a gastro style pub, or strong leadership experience across quality pub or restaurant environments
  • A natural leader who inspires, develops and motivates teams
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences every time
  • A proactive, reliable and highly organised approach
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing P&L, sales and labour budgets
  • The ability to build relationships within the local community
  • Availability to work up to 48 hours per week including evenings and weekends
  • Right to work in the UK

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Overall management of the pub in line with Upham Inns brand standards and procedures
  • Leading from the front with a hands-on approach to coaching, training and team development
  • Building strong connections with the local community, ensuring the pub remains a key village destination
  • Driving a culture of great food, great drinks and warm hospitality
  • Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and compliance
  • Acting as DPS, ensuring licensing requirements are met
  • Managing stock, ordering and wastage control
  • Planning rotas at least two weeks in advance in line with labour budgets
