Description
The Arts Club, London

Full-time | On-site

A Stage Unlike Any Other

In 1863, a group of artists, writers and free thinkers gathered with a shared conviction: that the finest conversation, the boldest ideas and the warmest hospitality belonged together under one roof.

Charles Dickens dined here. Whistler argued here. Rodin was inspired here.

The Arts Club was born not as a venue, but as a living expression of creative life — and it has never stopped.

Today, The Arts Club stands as one of the world’s most influential private members’ clubs, bringing together leaders from the worlds of art, culture, business, hospitality, fashion and innovation.

We are now seeking an exceptional leader to help shape the next chapter of that story.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director – Marketing & Communications, Cultural Programming and Membership will lead an integrated strategy across brand, marketing, communications, content, cultural programming, membership and hospitality marketing.

This is a rare opportunity to play a defining role in how The Arts Club presents itself to the world and engages its members, guests and future audiences, elevating profile, deepening relevance and driving commercial performance while preserving the spirit, standards and creative legacy that make the Club unique.

The role encompasses all aspects of brand positioning, member engagement, cultural programming, luxury hospitality marketing and commercial storytelling across the Club’s restaurants, bars, private event spaces, hotel rooms and suites, and wider lifestyle offerings.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Executive Director will help shape the future direction of one of the world’s most influential private members’ clubs, ensuring The Arts Club remains at the forefront of culture, hospitality, luxury and creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Leadership

  • Define and evolve the Club’s positioning within the luxury hospitality, cultural, fashion and lifestyle sectors.
  • Develop compelling storytelling that celebrates the Club’s heritage while ensuring continued relevance for future generations.
  • Ensure the Club’s visual identity, tone of voice and brand standards are consistently executed across all platforms and properties.
  • Protect and strengthen the Club’s reputation and standing as one of the world’s leading private members’ clubs.
Marketing & Communications
  • Lead and deliver an integrated marketing and communications strategy across membership, hospitality, cultural programming and commercial activities.
  • Oversee all member communications, digital platforms, social media, public relations, publications, content creation and editorial strategy.
  • Shape the Club’s tone of voice, storytelling and external profile across all channels.
  • Drive awareness, engagement and reputation through innovative campaigns
  • Ensure all communications reflect the standards, values and aspirations of The Arts Club.
Membership
  • Partner with the Membership team to drive acquisition, retention and engagement strategies.
  • Develop initiatives that deepen member participation, loyalty and advocacy.
  • Create compelling membership journeys from prospect engagement through to long-term retention.
  • Use insight and data to understand member behaviours, preferences and emerging opportunities.
  • Ensure membership communications and experiences reflect the Club’s standards of excellence and exclusivity.
  • Support the continued evolution of a diverse, influential and culturally engaged membership community.
Cultural Programming
  • Provide strategic oversight and creative direction for the Club’s cultural programme.
  • Ensure the programme remains distinctive, globally relevant and aligned with member interests.

  • Create meaningful opportunities for engagement, connection and community.
  • Ensure cultural programming remains a key differentiator and the beating heart of The Arts Club experience.
Hospitality, Rooms & Suites
  • Lead marketing and communications strategies for the Club’s hospitality offering, including restaurants, bars, private dining, events, hotel rooms and suites.
  • Develop positioning and storytelling that differentiates the Club’s accommodation offering within the luxury hospitality market.
  • Partner closely with Operations and Revenue teams to drive occupancy, guest engagement and commercial performance.
  • Ensure all member and guest-facing communications reflect the standards and experience expected of a world-class luxury hospitality brand.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate awareness of the Club’s rooms and suites through targeted campaigns, partnerships, editorial content and media exposure.
  • Support the growth of food and beverage, events and accommodation revenues through effective internal marketing initiatives.
Commercial Performance
